How I Can Help
There are oh so many ways this path can get complicated.
Fertility & Family Building
You may find yourself thinking, planning, waiting, making decisions, and grieving in ways you never anticipated—all while trying to build your family. Along the way, you’re introduced to a whole new vocabulary you never wanted to know.
It’s a lot. The way this process consumes your life. What it does to your relationships. How you’re feeling about your body. Decisions you don’t want to have to make. People asking questions you don’t want to answer. What to do with hope.
And sometimes, you don’t want to have to explain any of it.
Therapy gives us a place to make room for your experience as it actually is—without assumptions about how you should feel, what you should do next, or what your path to building a family should look like.
Pregnancy & Postpartum
Pregnancy and postpartum can somehow be so much better and so much harder than anything you imagined—sometimes at exactly the same time. Your body, your relationships, your priorities, and your sense of who you are can all feel like they’re shifting at once.
There is joy and there is grief. Deep connection and intense uncertainty. You may not feel the way you thought you would. Or the way you did last time. Or the way someone else going through the same thing does.
Meanwhile, the world is telling you to be oh so grateful for what you have. As if acknowledging the hard parts somehow takes away from the most wonderful and joyous parts.
It doesn’t. Both can be true.
Therapy gives you space to be honest about what this experience is actually like for you, without having to make it sound better—or worse—than it is.
Loss & Grief
Loss changes the shape of everything that follows. When loss becomes part of your path to parenthood, grief doesn’t follow a predictable course—and it may not look the way you expect it to.
There is the loss itself, and then there is everything around it. The future. Your body. Decisions you may have had to make. Relationships that feel different. People saying the wrong thing—or saying nothing at all.
Grief is messy. It can hold opposing feelings, lingering questions, and moments that sneak up on you. You don’t have to sort it out before bringing it here.
Therapy can offer a place to grieve what happened, talk about the things that may be difficult to say anywhere else, and make room for whatever is there without needing to rush toward what comes next.
Parenting Through the Hard Stuff
Becoming a parent changes things. So does continuing to be one.
Parenting has a way of finding the parts of you that are already stretched thin. Your patience. Your sleep. Your relationships. Your expectations of yourself. The things you swore you would never do. The things your own parents did that you suddenly understand—or understand even less.
Somewhere between keeping your tiny (or not-so-tiny) human alive and thriving, managing those less visible things that keep a family running, and just trying to get through the day, there isn’t much space left for you.
And then there’s the overwhelming pressure to get it all “right.”
Therapy isn’t about getting parenting “right.” It’s about understanding what parenting brings up for you, making sense of the patterns you find yourself in, and creating more room for the person you are alongside the parent you’ve become—so you can parent in a way that feels like you.
